Field Test Request

Hi Everyone,
I am working on a doctoral dissertation, entitled, “Experiences of the homeless working poor in their quest to find affordable housing.” My research examines the lived experiences of working homeless individuals, and underprivileged families who are utilizing social services and seeking affordable housing in New York City and the surrounding boroughs. The intent of the research is to help understand the common hurdles homeless individuals encounter as they seek assimilation into affordable housing and home ownership. I will be recruiting participants who are employed homeless individuals living in shelters around New York City and the surrounding municipalities, to participate in my study. I am conducting a field test of my interview questions and am seeking three to five experts to participate. The purpose of the field test is to ensure that the interview questions are appropriate for the population and will not unnecessarily put participants through distress or discomfort. A field test helps to ensure that the questions asked during the interview are clear, appropriately worded, open-ended and in alignment with the overall research question proposed in my study. As an identified expert in the field, I would very much appreciate your expertise and feedback on the proposed interview questions. If you are willing to participate in the field test, please contact me at gillianfoy2015gmail.com for additional information.
Thank you in advance!

Hi Gillian,
The Homeless Hub has a section dedicated to conducting research with those experiencing homelessness, all the information can be found here http://homelesshub.ca/research. Specifically, some of the resources in the ethics section may be of use to you http://homelesshub.ca/research/ethics. Best of luck!
